Purdue finally ended a surprisingly long losing streak last season. The Boilers had lost five straight games to Northwestern, including the 2018 season opener that sent the Wildcats on to a surprise West Division title. Aidan O’Connell made good in his first career start, however, as J.D. Dellinger’s late field goal was the difference. It wasn’t a great Northwestern team to be sure, but it was a win.
That might be all we’re looking for in 2020. The goal is to return to a bowl game and have a step forward towards a big 2021 season.
