Grady Eifert to Stay As Graduate Assistant

Grady Eifert almost had the moment of the tournament for Purdue when he grabbed a huge offensive rebound in the closing seconds of regulation against Virginia. That play was the first moment we thought we were going to the Final Four, but it didn’t work out. Even though he won’t be on the court, the walk-on-turned-starter will still have a chance to reach college basketball’s promised land with Purdue.

This is an excellent move for Eifert, especially since recent graduate assistant D.J. Byrd left to be an assistant at Mercer with Greg Gary. Grady is the epitome of what Purdue basketball is all about, earning his way onto he court from being a mere walk-on to starting as a senior.
