Five Guys and Whys: How Did Purdue Beat Maryland?

Related Topics: Three-point field goal

On Saturday Purdue somehow pulled out a victory despite being down double digits in the second half, not shooting particularly well, and leading the game for less than one minute. So, my question to the fellas was what changed in those last 10-12 minutes that allowed Purdue to walk out of the Xfinity Center with a victory? I’ll take a stab first.

To me the biggest change in those last 10-12 minutes was that Maryland just couldn’t hit a shot. They were getting open looks and just weren’t hitting them. Sure, some of the shots were contested and some were perhaps not great looks but there’s no reason Maryland should’ve shot that poorly to end the game.
