This afternoon we have some NBA free agency news as our own Dakota Mathias was able to sign a deal with the agency that represents him:
Mathias played last season over in Europe for Divina Seguros Joventut in Spain, but made it just 12 games before an ankle injury ended his season. He then played in the summer league for the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in five games.
The deal is mostly a chance to earn a roster spot, and it could be a long shot:
The Mavericks have signed -- and re-signed -- several free agents this summer, including Kristaps Porzingis, Maxi Kleber, Boban Marjanovic and Seth Curry.
