Despite the best efforts of Dan Dakich, Dakota Mathias did not win Big Ten defensive player of the year. He was however added to the All Defensive team. So that’s quite an accomplishment. Let’s take this moment to remember how far Mathias has come and hope that next year he can win the defensive player of the year.
