Boilers in the Pros: Ricardo Allen

Ricardo Allen is heading into the 7th season of his impressive, yet improbable career, for the Atlanta Falcons.

Hailing from Daytona Beach, Florida, the Mainland High School graduate was a member of Danny Hope’s 2010 recruiting class. Coming into Purdue, he was listed at 5’9, 170 pounds. Rivals rated Allen as a 3* (5.7) corner, the 57th best player in Florida and the 29th best corner in the nation. Rivals listed Power 5 offers from Clemson, Arkansas, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, Ole Miss, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

In retrospect, Allen’s size was the limiting factor for his rating out of high school, but as you can see, he was a highly sought after prospect.
