Providence College has its opponent for its opening game at this year’s Maui Invitational.

The Friars will match up with Indiana in the Nov. 30 quarterfinals in Asheville, N.C., completing the early doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. Davidson and Texas also have been drawn in Providence’s half of the eight-team bracket and will meet at noon.

The Hoosiers and Friars have squared off only once in their respective histories and it happened on a national stage. Indiana raced to a 97-79 victory over Providence at the 1973 Final Four, with the two teams playing in the now-defunct third-place game.
