PC cancels Late Night Madness after student’s death

PROVIDENCE — Providence College has canceled its Late Night Madness Celebration, scheduled for Saturday night, due to the death of a PC student Thursday night, the school has announced.

Athletics Director Bob Driscoll, men’s basketball Head Coach Ed Cooley and women’s basketball Head Coach Jim Crowley have made the decision that, out of respect for his family, the celebration should be canceled.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” said Driscoll. “Our campus community is grieving and out of respect for the young man and his family, we have made the appropriate decision to cancel late night madness.
