CHICAGO — Luwane Pipkins’ first attempt at a special return to his hometown unfolded badly. Saturday afternoon he’ll get a second chance.
The Chicago native will look to build on some strong recent outings when his Providence College Friars play at DePaul’s Wintrust Arena (2 p.m.). The Friars will look to build on a modest two-game winning streak in which they dominated both Texas and Georgetown for the majority of the games. A large portion of that success came with better play from Pipkins, the 5-foot-11 transfer guard whose fit with the Friars seems to be improving.
