LOWELL, Mass. — Hayden Hawkey made 20 saves for his 65th career victory to become Providence College’s all-time winningest goaltender and the 13th-ranked Friars posted a 6-1 victory over 10th-ranked UMass Lowell on Friday night at Tsongas Arena.
Providence is now 17-9-5 overall and 10-7-2 in the Hockey East while UMass Lowell falls to 17-9-2 and 11-5-2 in the league. The two teams play again on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Schneider Arena.
Kasper Bjorkqvist had a pair of goals for PC, Jacob Bryson had three assists and Brandon Duhaime, Greg Printz and Jack Dugan each recorded two points.
