Monday’s press release made it seem like the decision to cancel this year’s Providence College-University of Rhode Island basketball game was a mutual one.
Tuesday, Rams coach David Cox casually cleared up any misconception that URI was content with not playing their in-state rival Friars like they’ve done every year since canned beer was first created.
“I can’t answer for them,” Cox said. “I know that we made every effort to play the game. I guess I’ll leave it at that.”
