INDIANAPOLIS – If you love a crazy, unpredictable, seeds-mean-nothing NCAA basketball tournament, it looks like this will be your March to remember.

College basketball may have its troubles, namely the dark cloud of a still-swirling FBI investigation into the slimy world of big-time recruiting. But what’s happening on the court is opening eyes as well. Quite simply, it is becoming impossible to identify the very best teams who own the chops to cut down the nets along the Riverwalk at the Final Four in San Antonio.

Through Thursday night’s uneven action, nearly everyone who is supposed to be good is losing games in these dog days of February.
