WASHINGTON, D.C. – To foul or not to foul?

That is the age-old conundrum that Ed Cooley and his staff faced late in regulation of Saturday’s Big East game at Georgetown. They chose not to foul with three seconds to play and were burnt by a game-tying 3-pointer by Mac McClung.

Further mistakes in the first overtime let the Hoyas survive again and in the second extra session the home team made all the big plays and escaped with a 96-90 victory. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak in the series for the Hoyas, who improved to 12-5 and 2-2 in the Big East.
