PROVIDENCE – Providence College basketball fans longing for the start of Big East play at home will get their wish in the 2018-19 season.
The bad news? The Friars will face the iron right out of the box.
PC’s Big East schedule was released Thursday and for the first time in four years the Friars will open league play at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The building is hosting Disney on Ice Dec. 27-30 and will clear the decks for visits from Creighton on Dec. 31 and the defending national champion Villanova Wildcats Jan. 5. The Friars haven’t opened Big East play with two home games since the 2009 season.
