PROVIDENCE - The Rev. Brian Shanley may be leaving his post as the President of Providence College this spring but he'll never be forgotten by Ed Cooley.
Fr. Shanley and athletic director Bob Driscoll were the men who identified and brought Cooley home to Providence from his job at Fairfield University. They've awarded him multiple contracts that have made Cooley fabulously wealthy and given him the opportunity to chase his coaching dreams in the Big East.
Fr. Shanley, who is a Warwick native and grew up a big PC fan, was honored at halftime of PC's win over Marquette Saturday.
