'You sense the fear... there are not too many players in the world who give you that': Brendan Rodgers backs 'frightening' Jamie Vardy to fire Leicester into the Champions League after scoring his 100th Premier League goal against Crystal Palace

Brendan Rodgers has backed ‘little rascal’ Jamie Vardy to fire Leicester into the Champions League because of his rare ability to frighten opponents.

Vardy became the first Leicester player to pass a century of Premier League goals when he scored in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace and will spearhead the Foxes’ bid for back-to-back wins on Tuesday against Arsenal, with Vardy on target nine times in nine top-flight games against the Gunners.

The 33-year-old gained global fame and became a Leicester icon after helping them win the 2016 title – but Rodgers revealed Vardy still has the same fiery edge that was apparent during his time in non-league football.
