The Gunners faithful were hugely optimistic about the new campaign and the signing of the experienced free agent Willian looked like it could have been a shrewd bit of business, despite reservations over his £220,000-a-week wages.

Three months later, the former Chelsea man is being labelled one of the worst signings in the club's history.
