Deepening uncertainty surrounds the short and long-term prospect of current competitions over the coming months as the end date for this season has been pushed back 'indefinitely'.

The groundswell of opinion among executives at clubs up and down the country, and up and down the pyramid, is that the campaign must be played until its resumption.

Fixtures are off until at least April 30, although the smart money appears to be on those being moved further into May as the United Kingdom continues to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
