West Ham consider alternatives as talks with Yuri Alberto grind to halt with the Hammers keen to reinforce up front with Michail Antonio linked with a move to Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq

West Ham are looking at alternatives after talks for Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto hit an impasse.

As reported by Mail Sport on Tuesday, the Hammers will remain in the market for a forward, even after securing the transfer of Mohammed Kudus, with Alberto having been among their targets.

David Moyes' side have seen wantaway striker Gianluca Scamacca join Atalanta, and with Michail Antonio the only other recognised striker with senior experience at the club, Alberto emerged as a target.

The need for a new No 9 may become even more pressing as the transfer deadline draws near, with the Jamaican international linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
