'We were in on John Terry's Chelsea farewell': Sunderland boss David Moyes admits players knew the plan

David Moyes revealed that Sunderland had agreed to kick the ball out in the 26th minute so Chelsea could substitute John Terry with a guard of honour.

Play was paused in the Premier League match to allow Chelsea to give their 36-year-old skipper a send-off in the first half.

Terry, Chelsea's No 26, was tearful as he was replaced by Gary Cahill after Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford put the ball out of play as arranged.
