Jose Mourinho has given Steven Bergwijn his full support after the Dutchman received online abuse for his two costly misses in Wednesday night's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
With the score 1-1 at Anfield, Bergwijn was clear through on goal with just goalkeeper Alisson to beat but saw his shot come back off the post.
It proved costly as Liverpool went on to win the top of the table clash in the final minute thanks to a Roberto Firmino header and Bergwijn was singled out for abuse on social media.

His manager Mourinho, speaking ahead of Tottenham's home fixture against Leicester City on Sunday, gave Bergwijn his backing.
