Wayne Rooney believes English football is 'pushing to return too soon' amid the Covid-19 crisis and the opinions of players are counting for little.

The Premier League are hoping to resume the season on either June 12 or June 19 under their Project Restart plans, while the Championship have pencilled in May 25 as the date players will return to training.

Derby County captain Rooney, however, says full contact training cannot happen until the government relaxes rules on social distancing.
