Unai Emery says John McGinn is the ultimate example for young footballers and that Aston Villa got a huge bargain when signing the Scottish midfielder for just £2.5million from Hibernian in 2018.
McGinn will return to Edinburgh on Wednesday for Villa’s first Europa Conference League assignment at Hibs, where he played 136 games and made a name for himself between 2015 to 2018. And experienced Spaniard Emery singled out the Glaswegian for praise.
Straight-faced Emery chuckled when asked if McGinn would cost a bit more money to sign now, and said: ‘Since moving his career has got better and better.
