Tottenham defender Djed Spence is closing in on a £1m loan move to Leeds after making just six appearances last season following £20m switch from Middlesbrough

Tottenham defender Djed Spence is set for a return to the Championship as he closes in on a love move to Leeds United.

The 23-year-old has struggled for game time in north London after his exceptional 2021-22 campaign prompted Spurs and then-manager Antonio Conte to shell out £20m to secure his services.

However, in his debut season Spence made just six appearances and spent the second half of the campaign on loan in Ligue 1 with Rennes, where he endured a similarly disappointing spell.

A return to the second-tier with Daniel Farke's side could see the attacking full-back enjoy a return to form.
