Thomas Tuchel claims Tammy Abraham is 'lacking in confidence' but Chelsea's top scorer has been given the fewest chances to impress since the German arrived - exiling the Englishman is the only mistake the Blues head coach has made so far

The day before Frank Lampard was sacked and Thomas Tuchel arrived in west London, Chelsea had a striker in Tammy Abraham they could rely on.

Amid Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, and the uncertainty with Olivier Giroud's future, Abraham's FA Cup fourth-round hat-trick against Luton Town - cementing his place as the club's top scorer - meant the Englishman was the Blues' go-to man up front.

Fast forward nearly three months and Abraham is still Chelsea's top goalscorer on 12 goals, but the 23-year-old has been exiled at Stamford Bridge by new head coach Tuchel.
