'The players shouldn't have to take these bullets': Ian Wright launches scathing attack on PFA chief Gordon Taylor as Chris Sutton calls supremo 'out of touch' for his response to the coronavirus crisis

Ian Wright has launched a scathing attack on Professiona Footballers' Association chief Gordon Taylor for his handling of the wage stand-off in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

The PFA have taken the stance that any wage reduction for Premier League players would harm the NHS, by denying it finances through taxes. and as a result have told players to refuse the 30 per cent pay cut currently being discussed by top-fligh clubs.

That decision has left stars open to criticism for following the advice of their union, with government officials, such as Health Secretary Matt Hancock, calling out their decision to refuse a drop in their salary.
