'The curse continues!': Spanish media can't resist a dig at Gareth Bale and his 'failure' after he comes on with Spurs 3-0 up before they blow their lead and he misses a late chance as West Ham secure a point at the death

Spanish media wasted no time taking aim at Gareth Bale and the 'curse' that follows the Welshman following his role in Tottenham's three-goal collapse against West Ham.

Bale made his first appearance since rejoining Tottenham in a loan deal from Real Madrid this summer, coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes on Sunday with Jose Mourinho's side 3-0 up.

He missed a brilliant opportunity to seal the win and was left to reflect on an agonising finish with Manuel Lanzini netting a stoppage-time stunner for 3-3.

'We had to wait a month, of course, after Bale arrived injured and it seems the curse stays with him,' an editorial in Spanish paper Diario AS read.
