Ed Woodward has warned there are still difficult times ahead for Manchester United even though Premier League football returns to Old Trafford for the first time in three-and-a-half months on Wednesday night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side face Sheffield United behind closed doors, and in his programme notes for the game Woodward admitted there is still some way to go before the club emerges from the long shadow cast by the coronavirus pandemic.
'On the pitch, there is no escaping the reality that the coming months are going to be difficult for everyone in football and we are no exception,' writes the United chief.
