'That’s some mad tale that’s come out of nowhere': Rio Ferdinand dismisses rumour that David Moyes made him watch videos of Phil Jagielka but admits he did have 'heated meetings' with former Manchester United boss

Rio Ferdinand has finally put to bed the longstanding rumour that former Manchester United manager made him watch videos of Phil Jagielka in an attempt to improve his game.

Moyes had a short and unsuccessful 10-month spell at Old Trafford after becoming the man to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2013.

Sacked with United seventh in the Premier League, a number of strange reports soon emerged about about his coaching methods during his time at the club.

And Ferdinand has now dismissed one of the more memorable ones, that being that Moyes used to make him study clips of then Everton centre-back Jagielka.
