It would appear to have been a week of cock-ups by sporting authorities. UEFA sent out a tweet announcing that — despite the fact the Euros are set to be played next year — the postponed tournament would still be known as Euro 2020, before backtracking.

And Sports Agenda can reveal that European football’s governing body were not alone. Last Tuesday, the EFL set up a conference call for the 24 Championship clubs to give their feedback to the board before it convened to discuss the next steps.

However, only 15 of the clubs managed to connect to the call, leaving the other nine frantically trying to find out what was going on.
