Sean Dyche pays tribute to Alan Woan - father of his No 2 Ian - after he died of Covid-19 complications aged 90... as Burnley pay the perfect tribute by beating his old club Crystal Palace to move 11 points clear of drop zone

Sean Dyche paid tribute to his No 2 Ian Woan's father, who passed away following Covid-19-related complications.

Woan was at Selhurst Park alongside Dyche after losing his father Alan who used to play for Crystal Palace between 1959 and 1961.

Dyche said: 'My assistant unfortunately lost his father overnight to Covid and the complications.

'He didn't mind me saying this because his dad used to play for Palace and I said 'if you don't mind I think it's relevant for you and the family, to remember his career and not just him as a fella.
