Arsenal are trying to clinch Mesut Ozil's early departure this month with the German's exile from the first team virtually certain to continue.

Ozil, it is understood, is finally open to leaving the Emirates Stadium.

The World Cup winner was not included in Mikel Arteta's Premier League or European squads for the opening half of the season and has not played for the club since March.
