Manchester United have an astonishing 12 players who earn more than their interim boss Ralf Rangnick, it has been revealed, breaking an age-old tradition under legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Rangnick, who has joined United on a six-month contract and will then move into an advisory role for two years, is believed to be set to bank almost £8million for his work until the end of the season.
Having left his role at Lokomotiv Moscow's sporting director, he has more than doubled his £3.8m earnings in Russia, but this hefty increase is still not enough for him to usurp the salaries of many of his stars.
