Raheem Sterling is switching up his diet after claiming that weight gain caused him to suffer from hamstring problems during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old is planning on cutting down his caloric intake in order to trim down before the new season commences.

The former United forward is currently away in the United States with the Blues, and featured in their pre-season friendly win over Wrexham, with the Premier League giants thumping the newly-promoted League Two outfit 5-0.

He said: 'In the season I changed a bit of my diet and went to do something a little bit different that I had not done before.
