The Premier League will recommend adding additional cameras just outside the penalty areas to improve VAR accuracy next season, according to reports.

The technology continues to divide teams and their supporters alike, particularly when the system is involved in more seemingly-subjective calls, such as around handballs and fouls.

Its more straightforward implementation – when ruling on the offside law – has also come under fire this season, but the Premier League's suggestion will allow for more angles to be available for VAR teams when making decisions after questions this season about the clarity of the footage available for the referees.
