Premier League broadcasters will need to follow tough Covid restrictions to ensure they can finally return to conducting interviews indoors.

As Sportsmail exclusively revealed on Tuesday, host broadcasters Sky and BT Sport will be allowed back into indoor spaces at stadiums from this weekend, pending formal top-flight ratification.

Broadcasters and crew members accredited for the new ‘purple zone’ must have Covid passports and wear face coverings while indoors, including going to and from the interview room.

Reporters can take their masks off during interviews.

Those with two players from the same team can take place without the need for two-metre social distancing — but crew members must remain two metres away from interviewees.
