Police confirm arrest after Manchester United supporters heard singing tragedy chants towards Liverpool fans during FA Cup clash in relation to Hillsborough Disaster... as FA condemn the 'unacceptable behaviour'

An arrest has been made after Manchester United’s stunning FA Cup victory over Liverpool was marred by tragedy chanting.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they had held an individual following allegations made at Old Trafford during Sunday’s quarter-final.

At various points throughout a pulsating clash United fans were heard singing ‘always the victims, it’s never your fault’, ‘The Sun was right – you’re murderers’ and ‘murderers’.

Those chants relate to the Hillsborough and Heysel tragedies. The Football Association were quick to condemn those involved, while GMP later confirmed action had been taken.
