Real Madrid supporters would take the signing of Harry Kane over the return of Cristiano Ronaldo in a heartbeat, but neither the 27-year-old England captain nor the 36-year-old is being seen as a viable option this summer.
Kane was being billed as the 'cheap' option by Spanish radio on Tuesday. But while the Tottenham striker might not have a Mino Raiola figure alongside him to massively inflate what he costs to sign, he does have Daniel Levy for a chairman and a contract until 2024.
Florentino Perez has long been an admirer but serious interest ended when Kane signed a six-year deal worth a basic salary of £200,000 a week in 2018.
