Nottingham Forest confirm the appointment of former Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson as the club's chief football officer following the sacking of Filippo Giraldi

Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson as the club's chief football officer.

The 39-year-old joins the Premier League strugglers following the sacking of sporting director Filippo Giraldi on Monday.

'Wilson joins The Reds with immediate effect, following three and a half years with Rangers,' a Nottingham Forest statement read.

'During his tenure north of the border, Rangers won their first league title in 10 years when they lifted the trophy in the 2020/21 season.

'They went on to win the Scottish Cup and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League the following year.
