Newcastle youngster Joe White is set to join ex-Magpies star Gary Caldwell's Exeter City in League Two until the end of the season with the highly-rated midfielder yet to make his bow for Eddie Howe's side

Newcastle midfielder Joe White is set to join Exeter City on loan until the end of the season, Sportsmail understands.

The 20-year-old signed a new three-year contract in March and is well thought of within St James’ Park.

After a previous loan spell at League Two Hartlepool last season, it is hoped that four months with the League One Grecians will aid his development.
