Newcastle United’s Islam Slimani’s season over after FA ban

The Football Association have handed Islam Slimani a three-match ban for violent conduct in Newcastle United’s 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion.

The Algeria international was caught on camera when he kicked Craig Dawson in an off-field incident, though referee David Coote missed the action.

An Independent Regulatory Commission of the FA subsequently charged him for the incident and after he agreed to have committed the offence, he was suspended.

Slimani will miss the Magpies’ remaining games against Watford on Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur on May 9 and Chelsea on the 13.
