Netflix are believed to be mulling a bid for some Premier League rights after failing to land a slice of Champions League action.
The streaming behemoth were believed to have circled a deal for a share of the European top-flight rights for the 2027 to 2031 cycle, with sources telling the Times that Netflix had been vying for the Uefa Super Cup, and for German rights to air the Champions League.
Netflix ultimately missed out, while streaming rivals Paramount+ seized control of UK rights for the competition at the expense of long-term broadcasting partners TNT Sports in a bumper deal believed to be an excess of £1billion and covering France, Italy, Germany, and Spain as well.
