National League enjoys 16 per cent rise in home attendances after the coronavirus causes ALL other matches in England's top four leagues to be postponed

National League football matches saw a 15.5 per cent rise in home attendances on Saturday.

It came after the Premier League and the English Football League suspended fixtures in all of the country's top four leagues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, six games in the fifth-highest league of the system in England went ahead, and all of Saturday's hosts enjoyed bigger crowds than their previous home fixtures in the past week.
