Mike Dean's future as a VAR official is in DOUBT after being taken off Premier League duties over performance levels - and it is unclear if he will oversee another top flight game after not being selected since FEBRUARY

Mike Dean's future as a Video Assistant Referee is in doubt after he has been taken off selection in the Premier League for the past two months - with Sportsmail understanding his performance levels have played a part in the decision.

Dean, 58 - who retired as a referee at the end of last season - has not been on VAR duty since February 11, when he was in charge of the technology for Leicester's 4-1 win over Tottenham.

That day in February was a fateful day for chief refereeing officer for PGMOL, Howard Webb, who saw Lee Mason and John Brooks make significant errors while in charge of VAR.
