Southampton academy graduate Matt Targett has signed a new five-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 21-year-old defender missed the majority of the 2016-17 campaign, in which Saints finished eighth, due to a hamstring injury but has impressed new St Mary's boss Mauricio Pellegrino in pre-season.
'It's a great way to kick off the season,' said left-back Targett. 'I am really happy to sign.
