Marseille see off nine-man Sporting thanks to goals from former Premier League stars Matteo Guendouzi and Alexis Sanchez in Champions League victory

Marseille blew Group D wide open with a 2-0 victory over leaders Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.

Two first-half goals from former Premier League stars Matteo Guendouzi and Alexis Sanchez were enough to earn the victory over nine-man Sporting, who had Ricardo Esgaio and Pedro Goncalves sent off before the hour mark.

The French side are now level on points with Sporting and both side are three back from new group leaders Tottenham.
