Marco Silva laments decision not to show Malo Gusto a red card for tackle on Willian during Fulham's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea... and claims it is 'difficult to understand' the inconsistency in Premier League officiating

Marco Silva hit out at VAR Michael Salisbury’s ‘mistake’ after Chelsea’s Malo Gusto escaped a red card for a studs first challenge on Willian.

Defender Gusto was instead shown a yellow following the first-half flashpoint when the game was goalless, allowing Chelsea to keep 11 men on the field and go onto win narrowly.

Fulham boss Silva said: ‘It was a mistake from VAR. It’s a clear red card.

‘It’s difficult for [referee] Anthony Taylor to see if it’s a red card or not. He decided it’s a yellow and we have to be fair because in the moment it’s really quick.
