Manchester United takeover: Sir Jim Ratcliffe's fellow Ineos chief Sir Dave Brailsford insists they are 'very keen' to complete purchase - amid fears the Glazers won't sell

Sir Dave Brailsford has opened up on Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover bid for Manchester United, admitting they are 'very keen' to get the deal done.

Brailsford, former British Cycling supremo and currently Ineos director of sport, works alongside fellow company chief Ratcliffe at the petrochemicals giant.

The British tycoon and Qatari Sheikh Jassim are the two front-runners in the protracted saga to buy Premier League heavyweights United.

And Brailsford, 59, who is currently also working at French side Nice - owned by Ineos - discussed their desire to help the Red Devils get back to former successes.
