Manchester United are reportedly wary of another transfer fiasco with Borussia Dortmund, this time over Erling Haaland, after their prolonged and ultimately futile attempts to sign Jadon Sancho last summer.
The Red Devils had England international Sancho as their No 1 target in the last summer window, but a deal failed to materialise after the Bundesliga club did not budge from their £108m asking price.
Now, 20-year-old star forward Haaland is among United's top targets this summer but according to The Athletic, the boardroom at Old Trafford will assess whether the Norwegian is a viable option, given the hefty financial demands for his signature.
