A big eight days in the future of Phil Jones lie ahead before this summer’s transfer window closes.
The Manchester United utility man - once compared to Duncan Edwards by Sir Bobby Charlton - has not yet featured in any of Jose Mourinho’s matchday squads.
Jones has reached a crossroads in a career which promised so much when United took the plunge and spent £16.5million on him from Blackburn five years ago.

Stoke City are interested in landing him on the proviso that Jones is fully fit, but Sportsmail reported on Monday that United’s stance is that he could stay at Old Trafford.
